1. Indigo Epic Trail
Stretching across Victoria's High Country, the Indigo Epic is the largest single trail network in the state. With 93 individual trail segments linking towns and ridges, this is purpose-built for multi-day adventures. Plan a long weekend, book accommodation in Beechworth or Yackandandah, and pick a different section each day.
Best for: Adventure riders, multi-day tours, fit XC riders
2. Mystic Mountain Bike Park
Bright's flagship destination and arguably the most photographed bike park in Australia. Mystic combines shuttle-accessible downhill, jump lines, flow trails, and pump tracks into one tight network — and the town below has cafes, breweries and bike shops on tap.
- Vibe: Resort feel, busy weekends, riders of all levels
- Bring: Full-face helmet for the gravity trails
3. Big Hill Mountain Bike Park
A High Country gem with 83 trails ranging from beginner loops to expert technical descents. Big Hill is the kind of place where you can ride with the whole family and still find something to challenge you on the upper sections.
4. Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort
The closest alpine bike park to Melbourne. Mt Baw Baw flips from snowboards to mountain bikes when the snow melts, with 75 trails covering everything from jump-fest gravity runs to alpine cross-country. Lift access in summer makes it easy to rack up vertical without earning every metre.
5. Silvan Trails
Hidden in the Dandenong Ranges, Silvan is the local rider's secret. Steep, loamy, and deeply technical — this is where Melbourne's gravity scene goes to train. 69 trails packed into a small footprint means you can ride for hours without repeating yourself.
6. Plenty Gorge Park
Melbourne's best urban-accessible MTB destination. Plenty Gorge sits in the city's northern fringe and offers 64 trails through native bushland — perfect for a weekday after-work session or a Sunday morning loop with mates.
7. Haunted Hills Mountain Bike Park
Pure gravity-fed riding in Gippsland's old coal-mining country. Haunted Hills runs regular shuttle days and hosts national-level enduro events. The trails here are fast, flowy, and built to be sent.
Best for: Gravity riders, enduro practice, race-day prep
8. Omeo MTB Park — Livingstone Park
East Gippsland's high-altitude trail network, built and maintained by a passionate local club. Livingstone Park is the lower of Omeo's two networks, with 43 trails suited to most ability levels.
9. Omeo MTB Park — Sam Hill
Sam Hill is the upper, gnarlier sibling of Livingstone Park — named after one of Australia's downhill greats. 41 trails of mostly steep, technical, gravity-focused terrain. Worth the drive to Omeo on its own.
10. Forrest Yaugher MTB
Down on the Great Ocean Road in the Otway Ranges, Forrest is famous for wet, rooted singletrack through cool-temperate rainforest. The town doubles as a craft-beer destination, so plan a long weekend.
