Dinner Plain Trails
Overview
Dinner Plain is an alpine plateau village ~10 km southeast of Mt Hotham, on the Bogong High Plains, sitting at ~1,575 m. Its MTB park is free, pedal-access only (no shuttles), 26 km across 9 trails (mostly green and blue) [1, 2]. Riding is machine-built flow on alpine loam with rolling jumps and flowing terrain — ideal for progression and family riding.
The park is a summer counterpart to a winter Nordic-ski village, run under the Mt Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board. Riding starts from two trailheads (North and South); 90% of the network is descent. Repair stations are positioned at DP Hut and Scrubbers Hut. Bike hire is off-mountain only — riders need to organise rentals from Bright, Myrtleford, Mt Beauty or Omeo before arriving.
