Mt Lennard/Pile Road trail network
Overview
Mt Lennard (locally called the "Pile Road trails") is the western arm of the Wambenger Trails — the largest mountain-bike network in Western Australia. It sits inside Wellington National Park, about 25 minutes north-west of Collie and roughly 30 minutes east of Bunbury. Singletrack threads through mature jarrah forest and over granite outcrops, with sweeping views of the lower Collie River Valley.
The network spans roughly 35–40 km of marked MTB trails ranging from green beginner loops to challenging black and double-black descents, with a dedicated jump area (doubles and tabletops) at the bottom of the system. It is one of three Wellington-side hubs of the broader Wambenger network (Mt Lennard, Honeymoon Pool / Arklow, and Wellington Dam) that together exceed 100 km after the October 2024 expansion.
Mt Lennard was funded under the McGowan/Cook Government's
0 million Collie Adventure Trails initiative as part of the town's post-coal economic transition. Stage 1 opened in October 2021; later stages by Magic Dirt Trailworx and Three Chillies Design added the bulk of the singletrack through 2023–2024.
