Tamrookum Creek Bike Park
Overview
Tamrookum Creek Mountain Bike Park (TCMBP) is an 835-acre private gravity-focused
MTB venue in South East Queensland's Scenic Rim, approximately 90 minutes
south-west of both Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The park sits at the end of
Tamrookum Creek Road, just south of Beaudesert, on steep escarpment country with
roughly 270 metres of usable vertical. It is built and operated by
All Mountain Solutions Pty Ltd, a trail-building company that designs and
maintains the network itself.
The trail menu is heavily weighted toward Enduro and Downhill — hand-built,
rocky, often loose, with chutes and rock features that make it one of the
region's most demanding venues. Standout descents include Jack-Knife (the
longest, ~2.7 km with around 930 ft of descent), the double-black
Carnage Creek / Carnage Link combo (steep, technical, rocky), and the
Red-belly Black DH racing line. A shuttle road climbs the hill so riders can
lap descents without pedalling up. Trailforks lists ~19 trails.
The park is not a casual drop-in venue: it operates on designated open days
and events only. Riders must hold an AusCycling lifestyle or race licence
(monthly licence ~$9 if needed), sign a waiver, and wear a full-face helmet.
Mobile reception on-site is poor, there is no EFTPOS — riders are advised to
bring cash for the (sometimes-available) BBQ. Tamrookum Creek has hosted rounds
of the Queensland Enduro Series, SEQDH, and the 2019 Tamrookum Enduro Festival
(an Enduro World Series qualifier).
Location & Access
- Address: End of Tamrookum Creek Road, Tamrookum Creek QLD 4285 (last
property on the road). Approach via Mt Lindesay Highway, turn onto Tamrookum
Creek Road, follow to the end. Keep left at the Scenic Rim Adventure Park
signage near the start of the road.
- Region: Scenic Rim
- Drive times: ~1 hr 30 min from Brisbane CBD; ~1 hr 30 min from Gold Coast
CBD; ~25 min south of Beaudesert.
- Public transport: None practical — car only.
- Parking: On-property parking, gravel. Open-day registration from 7:00 am.
- Coords: -28.107131, 153.316308 (verified — matches Tamrookum Creek Road
area in current DB).
- Hazards en route: Tamrookum Creek Road is unfenced with cattle on the
road; drive slowly past residences. Mobile coverage drops out approaching
the property.
Best Season & Conditions
- Peak riding season: Autumn through spring (April–October). Cooler, drier
weather makes the steep techy lines more rideable; summer storms can render
the rocky chutes greasy.
- Wet-weather impact: Hand-built, rocky and steep — wet conditions are
dangerous and trails close after heavy rain to protect the surface. Open day
cancellations are usually announced via Facebook (@TCMBP).
- Fire-danger / total-fire-ban impact: Operates on event days only, so
fire-danger closures are folded into event scheduling decisions rather than
posted as a separate calendar.
- Snow / alpine season: N/A — sub-tropical SE Queensland.
- School-holiday surge: Open days are limited and book out; pre-book via the
All Mountain Solutions ride-days page.
Managing Body & Trail Builders
- Land manager: All Mountain Solutions Pty Ltd (private property; ~835
acres).
- Trail builder / maintainer: All Mountain Solutions (in-house — the same
team builds, runs, and shuttles the park).
- Operator contact: allmountainsolutions@gmail.com / 0411 103 160.
- Volunteer / dig days: Not formally advertised — work parties are
in-house.
- Donations / membership: Operates on ride-day entry + AusCycling licence;
no club membership.
History & Background
- Operator: All Mountain Solutions is a Queensland trail-building
company that constructs trails for councils and private clients across SEQ.
Tamrookum Creek is their flagship private venue.
- Trail construction: The earliest trails on the property date to ~2014;
the network has been progressively extended since.
- Event history:
- 2018 — Queensland Enduro Series round hosted at TCMBP.
- 2019 — Tamrookum Enduro Festival ran as an Enduro World Series
Qualifier (Sun 3 Nov 2019), 6 stages, ~1,200 m of descent across the day.
First EWS qualifier hosted by All Mountain Solutions.
- 2020 — A scheduled return of the Tamrookum Enduro Festival as an EWS
Qualifier (31 Dec 2020) was cancelled (COVID-era cancellation).
- SEQDH (South East Queensland Downhill) rounds have used the venue.
- Adjacent property: The Scenic Rim Adventure Park is on neighbouring land
on the same road — a separate 4WD / camping / bushwalking operation that
shares signage at the road entry but is not affiliated with TCMBP.
