Wylde MTB & BMX

Overview

Wylde MTB & BMX is one of the largest combined mountain biking and BMX hubs in Australia, spanning 86 hectares within Western Sydney Parklands on the lands of the Gandangara and Darug people [1][3]. The hub combines more than 15 km of purpose-built mountain bike trails through Cumberland Plain bushland, an AUSCycle-accredited BMX racetrack operated by Western Sydney BMX Club, and a large asphalt pump track at the trailhead [1][4][6].

The MTB trail network uses a "choose your own adventure" layout, with riders able to assemble 3 km, 6 km, or 12 km circuits depending on skill and time [6]. Trails are graded from green (Junior Loop, Start Your Engines, Roly Poly Valley) through blue (V-Twin Flow, Smiles for Miles) to black (Hidden Valley, V-Twin Gaps, Drop Zone) [DB]. E-MTBs are permitted on the network [2]. The pump track and skills zone at the trailhead double as a warm-up and a destination for kids and BMX riders.

Operated by Greater Sydney Parklands (NSW Government), Wylde was rebuilt and reopened in 2021 in its current 86-ha footprint after a

3.5M upgrade jointly funded by the NSW Government and Liverpool City Council, replacing the smaller 2014-era facility that had to be relocated to accommodate the M12 Motorway [7][8]. All facilities are free of charge.
